LAURA's GARDEN is the world's only e-zine devoted to BRITISH PSYCHEDELIA ~ music, literature, fashion, art, & other groovy scenes.
LAURA's GARDEN was formerly known as SWEET FLORAL ALBION (SFA)
SFA was founded in the summer of 2001 by Dave Thubron & Paul Hodges, as a xeroxed paper fanzine. Unfortunately, it was soon discovered that copies were being pirated and sold in certain London shops. So, in the genuine hippie spirit (and to deal with the strangling problems of self-printing) it was decide that SFA should be given away FREE to subscribers as an e-zine. The mag rapidly went from strength to strength, attracting a wonderful assortment of contributors and a large readership. Very early on, Jim Mac kindly provided us with web space at the Marmalede Skies site.
37 issues of SFA were published regularly (well, regular-ish) over a 4 year period; but, following several nervous breakdowns, PC disasters and the death of our founder (Dave T) we took a 2 year break.
Now, SFA has returned in a new incarnation as LAURA's GARDEN.
We hope that you enjoy our rancid ramblings and will join us for a trip or two around the bay. We promise to be home in time for tea.
